Ultimo Inca Ayllu Inca Paititi Foundation
The Ultimo Inca Ayllu Inca Paititi Foundation loosely translated means: “the last descendants of the Inca family connected to the mountain Inca Paititi”. The Qeros are the last descendants of the Incas and they live in very poor conditions at an altitude of 4600 meters in a remote area in the mountains, without running water, gas and electricity, poor hygiene conditions and with a child mortality of 49%. The Foundation was set up to help people from Quico and Japu, and the Qeros who live scattered across Marcapata, Ocongate, Alto Cusco and San Jeronimo. As a Foundation, we aim to make a sustainable contribution to maintain the culture and to structurally improve the living conditions of the concerning Qeros tribes.
Sustainable future
Ultimo Inca Ayllu Inca Paititi Foundation has placed the primary focus on education, in order to significantly improve the level of education. We do this, for example, by building a school in Alto Cusco, supplying school uniforms and materials, books and tuition fees, transferring knowledge and active participation of the local people in the maintenance and construction of the school. The deployment of local people in the projects also creates employment and at the same time a source of income.
Mission / Vision
There is a lot of poverty, disease and illiteracy among the Qeros. General knowledge is the basis for development. We want to increase the general knowledge of the young Qeros generation by stimulating and financing high-quality education, both primary and secondary schools. By developing sustainable projects in the field of permaculture, among other things, people’s level of knowledge is broadened and with that also their self-reliance and self-sufficiency.
Conservation of culture
The Inca Culture is one of the oldest cultures in the world where knowledge has been passed on orally from generation to generation. The Quechua language is still spoken and was an unwritten language until recently. The preservation of this culture is important, the traditions, the weaving of garments and clothes, the spirituality.
